Values

/ˈvaljuː/ principles or standards of behaviour; one's judgement of what is important in life.
My professional principles

Operating with fairness and integrity is at the heart of everything I do*

*I can physically hear your eyes rolling to the back of your head. It’s OK, mine would be rolling too. I’m going to get off my high horse and level with you.

I’ve worked in some pretty terrible businesses: banking (the bad kind), recruitment (the really bad kind), even gambling. Gambling for goodness sake! It all came to a head during a visit to a factory in China. Without going into too many details, it ended in a breakdown spiritual awakening in the company toilets.

Luckily – with the mentorship of some brilliant humans – I was able to correct my trajectory. They showed me it’s possible to use my skills morally, while also paying the bills.

My integrity (and my constant questioning of it) is not something I take lightly; I’ve got a lot of karma to catch up on.

Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value.
